Software Localization


Software Localization requires hardware and software expertise as well as in-depth knowledge of the source and target languages, regulatory requirements, and cultural nuances to make the translated application as functional for the foreign user as it is for the domestic user. We offer our localization services to enable you deploy your products in global markets effectively. We make sure all our localization efforts are driven towards making the product look as if it has been developed in the language of the target market itself.

Process

As a first step, we perform localization analysis to check if the product is ready for localization into the target language. We will then develop a definitive strategy to meet project specific objectives to be approved by the client. Once project kicks-off we develop a Localization Kit along with instructions to be used by all parties involved in the process. In order to ensure consistent and prompt communication between the project personnel from both sides, a Project Manager and a Prime Contact Personnel are assigned exclusively for each project.

Prior to actual localization process, hands-on training is conducted for all the translation and technical team members for a thorough understanding of the application. The process starts with the identification and extraction of files and file components to be translated into the target language. The extracted material is then translated into the target language by the localization experts in our panel and the translated strings are finally reinstated into the source code. Layout, graphics and all the localization issues specified in the Analysis stage are addressed so as to produce a finished product in the specific target language(s).

Our localization efforts are then concentrated in localizing the support documentation (help files, online documentation and other documents) of the product into the target language in a manner consistent with the localization of the User Interface.

Quality Assurance
Consistent quality standards are achieved by our stringent quality assurance mechanisms. After the product has been reengineered, a 3-tier QA mechanism is deployed to check the linguistic and technical accuracy of the localized product to ensure that the localized version of the product functions exactly like the source (English) version and is perfectly in tune with the cultural and linguistic requirements of the target market. These Language Reviews can be arranged onsite at the clients’ location if required.

Consistency
Specific glossaries are created for large projects that have on-going revisions to ensure consistent and accurate terminology throughout the current project and also related future projects. This glossary is also used by all the translators and reviewers while translating all the translatable material related to the product (help files, online documentation and other documents) into the target language. It saves time and also helps maintain consistency in future when releasing the updated localized versions of the product.
